UW Medicine Leadership Development Program
Tier 2 -- Leading and Managing for Optimal Performance
Successful managers establish and maintain relationships, communicating effectively, even under pressure, and they are skilled at bringing resolution to various forms of conflict. They understand and respect the diversity of skills, styles, and cultures that employees bring to work and they know how to cultivate a work climate where respect and teamwork thrive. They understand the essentials of quality and process improvement and understand how to establish and achieve goals. In this phase, leaders will engage in various opportunities to better understand themselves and others, and will define the scope of their practicum, which is a project they will design to implement skills learned throughout this educational series.
