Tier 1-- Supervisory Foundations: Making and Delivering on the Promise

Course Description

In this phase, leaders will learn how to target and hire talented people and how to welcome and prepare them for a successful career at UWMC, orienting them to the rich culture of pride and commitment that have long marked this organization. The essential tasks of supervision will be taught during this phase including an orientation to the ethical and regulatory nature of healthcare.

Course Length:

Three days

Eligibility & Attendance Requirements:

The following UWMC employees are eligible:

  • Supervisors
  • Managers
  • Executives

Tier 1 is the first phase of the Management Certificate Program and all UWMC supervisors, managers, directors, and executives are expected to complete all three tiers.

New supervisors and managers should complete Tier 1 within their first six months on the job.

Completing Tier 1 is required before enrolling in Tier 2.
