The UWMC values its employees and sponsors several special events throughout the year through the Recognition Team, to build camaraderie and morale through fun and celebration!
Winterfest
Date: December 1 - December 22, 2009
UWMC welcomes the winter when the hospital is decorated with holiday lights and wreaths and departments participate in the decorating contest (Winter Olympics: Go for the Gold). Staff supports our community by collecting items for our food and gift drives, benefiting Northwest Harvest and The Salvation Army (White Center). Delicious lunch is delivered to all departments, and those working nights can stop by the popular night staff breakfast social. If you can’t make any of those, there’s always the cider & jazz social in the 3rd floor lobby of the hospital. See the Winterfest calendar for dates.

*NEW* Friday, March 5, 2010
Classified and professional staff eligible for a Service Recognition Award in 2009 are invited to the Annual Service Awards Banquet, along with winners of the 2009 Employee of the Month and Service Excellence awards. This evening includes live music and dancing, gourment food, and an awards presentation to publicly honor eligible awardees for their years of service. Invitations will be sent to honorees' box numbers in mid-January.

Inaugural UWMC Soccer Tournament

Join your UWMC colleagues for the 2nd UWMC 7-on-7 soccer tournament! The inaugural tournament on September 26, 2009, at the IMA field turf was a great success – don’t miss out on the next one! Top three teams earn t-shirts, and the top team gets a plaque with their team photo!

*NEW* Pumpkin Baking Contest
Date: TBD 2010Trick or treat? The choice is yours in this UWMC-wide department contest. A simple guideline is to keep it "kid friendly." Show off your Halloween feng shui when hanging cobwebs and positioning brooms. And you don't have to be a surgeon to take a carving knife to a lovely orange pumpkin.
Pumpkins are provided for those who enter the contest.
