What is a Service Champion?

Service Champion consistently demonstrates our UWMC Standards for Service Excellence, modeling these behaviors and acting as a service excellence resource to patients, visitors and other members of the UWMC faculty and staff.

Who qualifies for this professional development opportunity?

If you work for UWMC, you're eligible.

What would I gain from this?

  • Professional development; improving skills in communication, problem solving and service delivery.
  • Personal development; coaching on how to remain poised and professional in response to challenging service delivery situations.
  • Satisfaction in knowing that you will be a role model and resource to others at UWMC, in improving service quality.

How much time will this take?

  • You will be required to complete 3 skill development sessions, 2.5 hours in length, 7.5 hours total.
    • Session#1: Bringing our Standards for Service Excellence to Life
    • Session#2: Communication Essentials: Responding to Service Challenges
    • Session#3: Service Championship in Action
  • You'll be asked to demonstrate your new skills in the course of carrying out your current reponsibilities, including identifying ways to breakdown service barriers.
